Scott H. Sweren, Practice Manager of Fortrex Technologies, will discuss “Document and Records Retention and Destruction”. Mr. Sweren will cover topics ranging from creating the business case for a formalized program to auditing the program. Included in this discussion are a selection of records and retention issues, managing the program, legal and regulatory considerations and electronic records management. Mr. Sweren has conducted numerous seminars on document management. He has over 20 years of practical hands-on and managerial experience in Information Technology with expertise in analyzing business processes, assessing key application controls and reviewing security controls consistent with a risk-based audit approach. He has held positions of increasing responsibility in the corporate environment, culminating with Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of General Electric Specialty Materials (GESM), a $3.1 billion division of GE. Mr. Sweren holds several certifications including the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®), the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), the Project Management Professional (PMP®). Mr. Sweren speaks frequently on a variety of Information Technology subjects and has numerous published articles.
